1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website places in your browser so it can remember you between pages and visits. We also use similar browser technologies, such as local storage, for the same purposes described here. This policy covers both and should be read together with the privacy policy.

2. What we use today

Strictly necessary

These make the platform work and cannot be switched off while you use it. They are set only in response to actions you take, such as signing in.

• Authentication session: secure tokens (cookie names prefixed sb-) that keep you signed in to your learner, trainer, company or admin portal and expire automatically. Without them, sign-in is impossible.
• Security: short-lived values that protect forms and sessions from cross-site request forgery and abuse.

Preferences

These remember choices you make so the site behaves the way you set it.

• Theme: your light or dark mode choice, stored in local storage.
• Language: your English or Bahasa Malaysia preference, stored in a cookie so pages render in your language from the first byte.

3. What we do not use

We set no advertising cookies, no third-party ad network trackers and no cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share browsing data for marketing. There are no social media tracking embeds on this site today.

4. Analytics, today and tomorrow

Product analytics on this platform is first party: events are sent to our own endpoint, without third-party analytics cookies, and event data carries no personal details. If we ever introduce a tool that sets analytics cookies, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before anything is set.

5. How long they last

Session cookies are deleted when their session ends or shortly after expiry. Authentication tokens refresh while you remain active and lapse when you sign out or stay away. Preference values persist until you clear them or change the setting.

6. Third-party content

Pages on this site are served from our own infrastructure, and fonts are self-hosted, so visiting MSDI does not trigger font or script requests to advertising networks. If we embed third-party content in future, for example a video player on a programme page, that provider may set its own cookies when you interact with the embed; we will list any such provider here before the embed goes live.

7. How to control cookies

You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings: look for Privacy or Site Data settings in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. You can also clear local storage from the same place. Two things to know:

• Blocking strictly necessary cookies means you cannot stay signed in to any MSDI portal.
• Clearing preference values resets your theme and language to the defaults; nothing else is lost.

The public parts of this website, including the programme catalogue, the blog and credential verification, work without any cookies at all.

8. Changes to this policy

If what we store changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. Material changes for signed-in users will also be announced in the portal.
